A team from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) conducted sappanwood processing tests at the RaiWay project to explore ways of developing the material into a concentrated extract and powder product, while examining opportunities to add value to raw materials through processing technology.

The tests focused on processing sappanwood extract through concentration and drying into powder form, aimed at understanding the suitability of the process and gathering information to support further research and product development.

Working with an actual raw material offered an opportunity to connect academic knowledge with the practical application of technology, with RaiWay providing the space to support testing and shared learning between academia and industry.
The activity reflects RaiWay’s role in supporting research and process development, opening opportunities to add value to raw materials and lay the groundwork for future products.
